K-12 EDUCATION OUTREACH PROGRAMS
Since inception in 2006, Boston Midsummer Opera has run small pilot education programs in conjunction with its summer opera performances. Opera becomes a vehicle for students to sharpen their thinking skills; to help them make connections with other disciplines; to expand their understanding of the complexities surrounding the performance and staging of the arts; to highlight the impact of technology on the arts; and to compare the broader culture of yesterday with that of today.
Programs are free to all non-profit educational institutions.
Some of the organizations that have participated in the full program include the following:
Cambridge Ringe and Latin School
Harvard inner city High School Summer Program
Perkins School for the Blind
Project STEP “Four Strings” Summer Program
Steps to Success
BMO INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
